Canker Sore Treatment

Other than healthy gums, we also want each and every part of our mouth to be healthy and that includes the walls of our mouth. Most likely, most of us has had canker sores before (and you are here to read more about it). But what is it really? And how do you treat it?

According to FamilyDoctor.org, canker sores are shallow, painful sores in the mouth. They are usually red or may sometimes have a white coating over them. You might get them on the inside of your lips, the insides of your cheeks, the base of your gums or under your tongue. Canker sores are different from fever blisters, which usually are on the outside of your lips or the corners of your mouth.
So basically, canker sores are blisters INSIDE your mouth. Scientists are still baffled with the exact cause of canker sores. But they do know something that can decrease canker sore breakout by as much as 70% !! That statistic is taken from Dr Barkoli’s study and I quote:
Dr. Barkoli tested two groups for 3 months. One used toothpaste with sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and one group used toothpaste without sodium lauryl sulfate.
Sodium lauryl sulfate is a common ingredient in virtually all toothpastes because of it’s foaming action and the misbelief that if something foams it also cleans.
It was determined that patients that used the SLS free toothpaste had a reduction in canker sores by 70% compared to the group that used toothpaste with SLS for three months.
Dr. Barkoli concluded that it appears likely that SLS may damage the thin layers of skin inside the mouth contributing to the reoccurance of canker sores.
CONCLUSION: If you want to help eliminate the vast majority of all canker sores use an all natural toothpaste without SLS.
So it looks like the cause of our canker sores is the one thing we trust to help our mouth clean, toothpaste. The lesson here is clear. If you want to stop having canker sores, avoid toothpaste. And since you would be avoiding toothpaste, you would need an alternative to help keep our mouth clean and our gums healthy.
Fortunately enough, we have ORAMD. ORAMD is the first all natural, highly effective dental care product created for total teeth and gum health, as well as overall dental hygiene. I have used this personally and I totally recommend it to everyone concerned about their oral health.
Use ORAMD as a toothpaste alternative and to prevent canker sores.
