Wisdom Tooth Pain

How do you kill/stop wisdom tooth pain? Before I answer that, I’ll give you a brief background of my problem. I had my lower right wisdom tooth erupt prematurely (wisdom tooth is partially covered by gums or what they call an impacted tooth…) last week. Because of that, the other nearby teeth was painful, my right tonsil hurts (initially thought to be tonsillitis…) and my right ear is a bit painful. I even had multiple small canker sores beside the wisdom tooth. Here is an image I took of my impacted wisdom tooth:

I tried to ride it through by waiting a few days for the pain to go away but to no avail. Eventually, I went to dentist to get my wisdom tooth checked. She confirmed that my wisdom tooth is indeed an impacted tooth and she gave me a prescription for the pain I was enduring. Here is the prescription:

  • Betadine - Oral Antiseptic Solution (to stop infections and the canker sores); gargle 3x a day
  • Dolfenal - Mefenamic Acid Capsules 500mg (pain killer); 1 capsule 3x a day

I used them and yes the pain subsided (though it is still there, it is much much bearable…).

Unfortunately, I did not have stock of OraMD. If I had, it would have helped my situation by killing bacteria causing germs that might lead to infection and relieve my tooth ache pain.
